  1. Hello Candy, it’s really a great idea to start an online school looking at the current situation we all are in and most students have really stopped studying and all they do is just play game all day. I feel there would be so many parents who would’ve to look for online classes for their kids. It seems really easy to get on with it and I’ll ponder over it

  2. Really worthy to see here. This might actually be a very good way to maximise the disruption in the academics in general. Being able to actually get the right audience would play major role in getting to achieve the success with this. I value what you shared here. I might actually consider trying this but it would require a lot of careful execution and planning

You are correct about the need for planning and careful execution but the same is true for any type of business. There are lots of tools available today to make this possible.

  3. Hello! I am also a Hong Kong student at university. I am influenced by the COVID-19 deeply. Actually, not only the COVID-19 influence my face-to-face section in university, but I also stop the face-to-face lessons due to the political protest. Therefore, I have studied at home through zoom for more than one year. Therefore, I know the importance of the condition you talking about like google classroom.

    Thank you for your article.

  4. Hi candy

This is a great idea and the time is clearly most opportune. Quite apart from starting your own school, from what I’ve seen many existing schools have had a very hard time getting themselves ready to provide some of their lessons online for this fall season. I would think there would be other business opportunities to provide the services that existing schools need to make their lessons online.

Our daughter just started the fall semester in 3rd grade. It is going a little better than the end of last year but things are still scrappy and a bit all over the place. I would have thought that if you could pull together some basic video materials that cover the core curriculum and then build a classroom experience around that there would be a business niche.

Then you would free up the teachers to be able to spend their time on shorter direct interactions with smaller groups of children also online working through parts of the material after they had watched the main video content and done some other exercises.

Our daughter’s school is using Google Classroom but they have pushed much of the technical support onto parents. Some parents are able to handle it but others are not. The problem is that you only one small thing to go wrong and a whole lesson can be lost for one child.

Thanks again for a very interesting business idea. Best regards, Andy

    • Hi Andy,

Those are some great ideas on how this idea may be implemented.

As a teacher, I don’t believe that one mistake could ruin a lesson, unless its a Science experiment. Teachers aren’t perfect. We make mistakes too. We all just have to adapt and move on.

This may force the incorporation of gadgets and homeschooling for those schools/Countries lagging behind. Governments have been good at telling us why online schools aren’t really the best option. Well, this pandemic will force us all to make it better so it can become a viable option for all.

  5. Considering everything that is going on today, living through a pandemic, online learning seems like a beneficial idea. It has less distractions so students can maximize learning. Overall I think that learning online will better students ability to retain information. Although not everyone is successful with online learning. How would you accommodate students who struggle with online learning?

    • Hello,

It’s early days yet to say everyone won’t be able to benefit. I believe that we are about to see more tools being developed to cater to all types of learners via the internet.

Also, might I say that the present school system didn’t suit all learners but we made them suffer through it with changes coming at a snail’s pace. I believe this will bring about true change for all maybe with different methods being incorporated into the learning environment and maybe surpassing the results of the system we have long clung to.

  6. Online school is cool. I get the opportunity to have the solace of home and I can learn whenever and in anyplace.

Learning online showed me how to teach myself since it takes a great deal of inspiration and support. I figure out how to spend time for family and friends, and time for training. You can gain proficiency with a decent variety of information through online learning. Thank you for letting this through

    • Hi Josh,

I have to agree. My children love online school. They are now able to remain in their safe place have their parent’s attention and still learn. The playing field won’t be level for everyone at first but that I am sure will change as everyone seeks to adopt.

  7. Since the advent of covid-19 and the nation wide mandatory lockdown, it was important for parents to find new creative ways for their children to learn be it through audiovisual educational resources or digital technology in the form of online classes organised by schools. This makes it easy to start an online school with the right resources

  8. I have nutueered the possibility of teaching online for a while but I have never thought that I could own my own website and also bill my students too. I always thought that I would carry things out on a third party website like say Fiverr but now that I see this, I love it because I’ll be able to start off without needing to pay some commusion on what I earn.

    • Hi Suz,

Indeed. There is indeed that choice of being apart of someone else’s business like fiverr ofcourse and I am not ruling out using an established site. I willl infact address that soon.

  10. HI, I have also been asking myself this question. Is there a way to start an online school today. With so many platforms we can rely on this to open an online school, I believe we can not afford to go ahead as if we had no solution on our hands. Thank you very much for this post.

    • Hi Ann,

I agree. The idea is available. I have been wondering why we have been so slow to adopt them even before COVID 19. I’ve heard of many ideas against but with the problems we now face everyone should now be able to see that it is time to change out thought process.

  11. This information on how to start an online school has come in handy because the truth is parents would love for their kids to continue learning but are afraid to take them back to school right now because of the fear of contracting the coronavirus disease. It is also timely because many teachers are seating idle at home, not knowing what they can do to keep busy and earn a living. It is a brilliant idea and I hope many teachers will adopt it.

  12. Great idea and something I hadn’t really thought about. Here in the UK the schools and colleges are all back now but with cases of covid-19 rising this could be a great way to help others whilst making some money too. My sister in law is a teacher so I’ll pass this on to her.

    Thanks for the article
